The UKSF L119A1 Thread (inc SFW)

Element surefire M300C Scoutlight

That's funny, looks like an M600 to me ;)

Good job though - my only comment would be along the lines of Al's comment, that some parts look too new. I had to spray my sniper tape to give it that well worn look.

Personally, I'd be getting the spray cans out for a full paint job - tiger stripes!

I'm thing about putting an order together with Warlord Tactical if anyone is up for clubbing together to save on shipping.

And just to be sure, I is anyone aware of any problems that I'd have putting these parts onto a G&G base gun?

been slowly working on this. When it's finished I'll try a 3D printed sample.

stuff still to do. round the edges, sort out the gas pipe hole and sort out the sight post holes

Good CAD model! The cost of printing that mate will probably end up coming out the same if not more than if you were to buy a Warlord Tactical sight though. Not to mention you'll get a better finish, it'll be stronger and it'll take the interference fit pins a lot better. I would worry about the sling point loops on the underside, if there <3mm thick they're likely to snap if knocked.

If you're commited to 3D printing though I'd recommend SLSing it rather than extrusion for the better finish. Shapeways are my go to guys for both work and airsoft project related stuff.

I'm planning to convert it and then putting it up on Shapeways. It means there will always be a option open to people if all the other sources run dry.

Al, if you PM me some pictures and sizes in mm I'll knock one up

Would need to ask someone who has one. RS cost £65 ish, so if you can make em cheaper than that they should sell quite well.

Jeebs,

just a heads up:

af-sil003_3_mark.jpg

i know its not a diemaco sight... however, take a look at the bayonet lug.

Yours has some more triangles right under the barrel openening.

The RS one does not have it.

You got pics of the Markings of a real one?

If not, i can provide some. Would really set it off of the other available ones..

Seeing as we're talking about 3D printing and 119s, I made an adapter plate for one of the old Ares AG36s so I can stick in on 20mm RIS. A much cleaner solution that most of the other options people have gone down:

Tarte, your inbox is full mate.

Hi mate any chance you could send me a copy of the pictures of the sight markings and any other L119 markings you have pictures of. I have a laser traded Colt Body on mine at moment and want to get the correct trades applied.

I´ll gather the refs tonite.

However, its more than just trades on the receiver.

The SFW also has markings on the Upper, Barrel and Frontsight.

got a sample coming from shapeways so I can fine tune it. Couldn't curve the edges as meshlab and netfabb had kittens so a slight sanding will sort it out.

Here's a link to the model on shapeways

when it's finished the basic plastic version will be £22

I've ordered a basic plastic one and an Alumide (£29)

here's a photo of where I am at now:

Now, I might get flamed for this but what the hell.

Saw this today (whilst browsing):-

shop.ehobbyasia.com/g-p-custom-c8a1-aeg-l119-1.html#.U2pZ7om9LTq

It made me think, is this in use by British special forces? Friend of mine is thinking of string it and was wondering what he'd have to do, to make it legit. Or would it be best to just get a basic aeg/gbbr and start over?

Appreciate any input/advice. He's looking at doing a post 2012 impression.

Yeah, it's what I thought. Basically not worth it, cheaper to buy a bog standard M4 and buy the necessary bits from there. Thanks for the reply.
