  1. Steel helmets were ally due to the Arnhem connection. Second possibility (unlikely) is that he is one of the Blues & Royals crewmen that went down south with Scimitar working dismounted, they got the older steel helmets, pretty unlikely though. In the SBS pic, to me, looks like the antenna is on Left of the unit, the angle makes it look like it's on the right.
  2. Sniper tape has been around for ages, it just was not known as sniper tape back then, Storeman Norman would know it as "NBC suit repair tape" back in the day <--true dit! Was like rocking horse sh*t but since 2003 or so it has been commonly available.
  3. Nice - what vert grip is that? I have been looking for one that will hold 2 pressure pads.
  4. Because it's relevant to both. (and I'm just such an attention whore ).
  5. Gave in and got the spray cans out - came out alright;
  6. Finally got around to giving mine the Rolf Harris treatment;
  7. I think he's referring to the different profiles of the 16" barrels - the old type with the ridge on it's length versus the newer types which seem to be a thicker barrel all the way with no discernable ridges.
  8. Is it a troll? Is it a sock puppet? What is it?

      No worries, the intervention is appreciated.

      I was getting quite attached to it in a strange way :)

  9. Posted this in the UKSF weapons thread but thought I'd share it in here too; L119A1 - cannot bring myself to paint it - PTW base, has PEQ2, Insight M3x, dual switch, KAC RAS/RIS, Aimpoint Comp M2, Redimag, converted Pmags. All real steel accessories. As you can see in the case there are other sighting options - not sure how accurate the M3x is but surely thay must be in use.
  10. Finally got around to taking some pics; UKSF (?) Minimi - basing it on what I understand to be used; this will also mount a PEQ2 in the field. L119A1 - cannot bring myself to paint it - PTW base, has PEQ2, Insight M3x, dual switch, KAC RAS/RIS, Aimpoint Comp M2, Redimag, converted Pmags. All real steel accessories. SIGP226 - TM base, RS crimson trace and M3
  11. Nice pics! Interesting carriage of respirators in 2nd pic down, carabiner'd to belt, makes sense. Is 4th pic down an attempt to outdo the Met at slotting Brazillian's?
  12. What an unmitigated pile of shite masquerading as journalism.
  13. Maybe as a righty he reloads from the left hand panel first, ergo it got filled with the new batch first? Bugger just saw the Rev's post - sorry!
  14. *Ak* - this type of stock on the minimi's?
  15. Yeah, fair one on the age of the link I agree that a manual safety on a Glock is a stoopid idea. But Gaston will build them with one if requested. I do not put it past someone on the project team to insist upon such a manual safety, perhaps I even agree with having one as the level of skills with pistols in the British Army still make me think that they are a greater danger tonthe user then the enemy. The duty rumour is that Glock is coming with manual safety. I guess time will tell.
