Right, having finally got my Star mk43 up and running reliably and turning it into a bit of a BB hose I just thought I'd post up what I've done to make mine usable and see if anyone else owning one has any advice on further improving it. First thing I did was change the small Tamiya to a large Tamiya (rather than as the previous owner had been doing just forcing a large connector into the small connector)at this point I also used a madbull m90 spring to replace the rather anaemic spring (240fps) it had come with. So far so good, on an 8.4v it was a misfeeding but firing like a beast beast and the the same on 9.6v. Then came the major failing with Satr gear the boxmag first and second game days I took it out I think I managed 20 rounds max before havin gto strip the box down and clear the jam.

Having looked at assorted options including a manual overide for the feed system I ended up buying a railed topcover (don't get on well with the irons) and one of the ARES boxmags from firesupport. This draws current from across the motor contacts so when the trigger is squeezed the box feeds. This may involve having to solder a stump wire (supplied with the box)across your motor contacts. It's not a perfect system as when connecting the feed tube after storage/on the way out of the safe zone theres a period of 10-20 rounds of dry fire as the motor feeds the rounds into the gun. This aside my mk43 now feeds reliably and is my preferred toy for a day out as once the feed issue was sorted out it turned out to have a rather good combo of ROF and range.

Next project for me is gonna be looking at the hop and trying to squeeze a bit more range out of it, accuracy wise it's fine as the spread over an 8 round burst is focussed enough to keep people's heads down but covers about a foot and a half at 40m.
