24hrs working in pairs but sometimes alone & being hunted by a determined enemy of experienced serving & ex-UK forces well equipped with vehicles, radios & the occasional search dog team complete with warm tents & sleeping bags.
While the Hunter Force enjoys some creature comforts you, as an evader, with barely any food, no sleeping bag & only a pistol with very limited ammunition have to navigate to grid references to recover cached equipment including food, weapons, ammunition & your next set of orders. Enemy patrols search for you endlessly scouring the area & looking under every bush for you, their quarry.
As the scattered survivors of an SF patrol, whose aircraft was shot down over enemy territory forcing you to bail out into the unknown, you have 24hrs to escape. In that time you must navigate your way in two man teams around numerous waypoints retrieving kit & intelligence data.
Without the kit & information you cannot reach your final destination for extraction or attempt any possible missions that local friendly HUMINT contacts may ask you to undertake.
Should you be unlucky enough to be captured you will be taken to the enemy command location for rigorous interrogation. They will want the information you have.
Can you survive for 24hrs out there?
Do you have the will-power & resourcefulness to get through the ordeal if you end up alone?
Evader force places are very limited as is the amount of kit you can take with you. A kit list is available HERE.
You will be thoroughly searched prior to drop off into the gaming area. Anyone found with contraband kit will be 'asked' to make a £25 donation to Help for Heroes for EACH item they try to smuggle in. We will name & shame you on this. The object is to complete the event within the spirit of the game. We've been doing these for nearly 5 years now & less than 7 people have successfully evaded the full 24hrs.
Hunter force places are unlimited & anyone with vehicles who is prepared to use them in game for troop movements & CASEVAC gets in half price. (Drivers will need to show proof of MOT, D/L & insurance prior to being allowed to use their vehicle on site).
Medic Rules & Hits
Medic rules are suspended for this & all E&E's. EF & HF have different rules when hit so please take note.
Hunter Force. Any HF hit will call hit as usual. However there is no regen or medic to bring you back to life. Your section/patrol commander must summon a vehicle from TAC to CASEVAC you. Casualties must be escorted back to the nearest track for pick up by 2 members of the patrol with hands on to simulate a stretcher carry. If this screws up the patrol formation & tasking then tough, thats the way it goes. It is up to the patrol commander to decide on his next action & justify that to the OC back at TAC.
Once CASEVAC'ed back to TAC the casualty has 10mins to bleed out before being able to infill back into the event. The OC will control this.
Evader Force. Any EF hit are deemed to be wounded & therefore subject to capture. You are not allowed to crawl away when hit. Stay silent & you may not be found but otherwise do nothing to attempt to escape. If, however, the HF are about as observant as a blind pensioner (& it has happened!) then wait where you fell for 20mins before continuing with your mission & next waypoint/objective.
Kit
Everyone should bring their usual kit for a weekend event. As mentioned in the E&E Kit List thread EF will leave their bergens with IED Staff who will transport them to HF TAC for the duration. Should you be captured you will subsequently be absorbed into the HF team after 2-3 hrs (should you survive the interrogation! Baby wipe anyone? :P )
EF will carry a pistol & one loaded magazine only. No spare gas, no spare ammo. Apart from the camelbak or water bottle pouches, all the other kit listed must be carried in one utility pouch of equivalent size to a Brit 58patt pouch. If it doesn't all fit, tough shit, improvise.
Event Start & Arrival Times
The event will begin 1200hrs Saturday 17th April & finish 1200hrs Sunday 18th April.
There is ample car parking on site.
Evaders will need to be onsite at 0930hrs latest. You will be met & escorted under guard to the site. DO NOT GO STRAIGHT TO SITE. You will use a seperate entrance & car park from the hunter force. Neither will be within the gaming area. Returning to your vehilce at any time within the game without notifying IED Staff will mean 'mission fail'. As mentioned you will be searched before you are infilled into the gaming area. You will be divided into two man teams (not negotiable) & dropped off before the HF arrive on site. You will then go to ground while you wait for Zulu hour at 1200hrs.
Hunter Force will be on site at 1030hrs latest & you can make your way straight to site. You will be met by your command cadre & you are expected to get yourselves organised & ready to go asap. Your site admin & safety brief will be completed as soon as you arrive. Starting at 1200hrs means the first vehicle & foot patrols set foot out of TAC. It does not mean your safety brief starts then giving you an hour to piss about in the car park getting ready. If you aren't ready to go by 1120hrs latest you will be left at the car park & have to tab in to TAC with your bergen. If your ready, you get your kit taken by vehicle & you may even get a lift to TAC saving your ickle feet.
PW Procedures
Evaders can be captured by being immobilised due to wounds (see Medic Rules above) or by some sneaky HF creeping up on them (unlikely!!).
The patrol must immediately begin an area search for any additional EF in the area.
Any PW's must be immediately isolated from the HF patrol & kept under guard at all times. They should be hooded & safely restrained.
They should be searched & possessions bagged for recovery back to TAC. Weapons must be made safe.
Section Commanders will ensure that no discussions or general chit chat takes place within earshot of the PW.
There will be no interrorgation by the patrol members or anyone outside of the command cadre.
Section Commanders will immediately request a vehicle from TAC by radio or runner.
A vehicle will be despatched with a QRF team. The QRF team will take responsibility for the PW & recover to TAC.
Vehicles
HF will be equipped with a number of vehicles, both civvie 4x4 & ex mil landies. These will be used for troop movements, CASEVAC & PW recovery.
Please be aware that these are your comrades & friends pride & joy so treat them as you would your own. Ask before jumping all over the tailgate of a 101 or 110 as belt round the lughole with the shovel could smart a bit!
Vehicles can be captured by EF who then have possession of them for 20mins. They can be used for whatever purpose the EF want...(apart from fcuking off site to the nearest chippy!!). Drivers will comply EF instructions as long as they feel safe enough to do so. It doesn't mean you can order a driver to barrel arse through the forest off road. They must stay on the tracks at all times.
To capture a vehicle it must be disabled by the use of a bang pyro (no fcuking smoke grens please....they smoke,...not go bang) thrown in front (10-15ft) of the vehicle. All inside are then condsidered brown bread & are on shanks's pony back to TAC. The driver stays with the vehciles & does as he's told........apart from stripping off & getting naked with the EF hemmers!
Once the 20mins is up (equivalent to a normal bleed out time) the EF give up the vehicles & the driver comes back to the nest. If the EF start playing silly arses over the 20min threshold then drivers feel free to bring them back to TAC without stopping for anything & we'll give them a welcome.
Don't drive like a mong on the tracks, keep the speed sensible as there are some heavily rutted areas. You rip your sump off & its your problem.
