The Chinese copy veggie isn't the same as the real stuff, not by a long shot. It's the same cut, ( if you're talking about the stuff they sell on ebaybanned?) but is otherwise not worth buying. I have a team mate who bought some, and the sizing is WAAAY off, the stitching poor, and the buttons are the sort of thing you'd find on your grandmas cardigan. When compared to my team leaders real veggie set, it pales.

Well actually i was refering to the look, buttons on cuffs, tiny velcro on shoulder but with out actually having some in my hand i only have pictures to go off. What is the material like?I was thinking of buying some from ebaybanned to cut up for the material to make the patches. It makes sense to spend just over £30 for the set,cut up the jacket & use the material{if the material is ok for use}.That way i only have to spread the cost of £15 or £16 as extra expense.Of course if the material is rubbish it's false economy & i might as well get the stuff from Flecktarn at extra expense.

Oh i see! The material is a bit shiny and teflony... I'm not sure I'd use it for anything really. Is this for the veggie UJs and stuff?

There's something about those pads that makes it look shit. Too shiny I think, or the fact the colour isn't the same as the camo pattern. Once they've been used and abused I'd imagine they'd look so much better. Or krylon ;)

I have TacGear stuff and i have to say it's really rather nice, i have thier flecktarn and M90 too. I have a link somewhere for a great source of vegetato kit. I also have a load of photos lifted form various other sites and forums if its ok to use them i will upload to photobucket and link here.

Find vegetato here!

Cheers,i've built a huge collection of vegetato sources but yours has to be one of the better ones for variety of kit.The snugpack reversable jacket is a steal at 32 euros & they have a very reasonable cost H2O jacket as well as the fleece top for those cold overnighters.

Here's a pic from a recent game

I need someone who speaks/reads italian fluently to get me one of these...
Linky

modelled here by some 185 R.A.O. or col moschin, i cant remember which...

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm250/krissvdh/Italian%20Special%20forces/goi4im5.jpg

check out the rest of the album there is some awesome photos with lots of detail in there.

For extra info i pulled this from another forum...

Quote

AFAIK, SOD Gear stuff is being tested but not officially issued yet.
Hi-tech stuff but not worth the super price... (just my 0.02$)

FCM manufacture good BDUs for Comsubin and other "special" units.
http://www.pxprato.i....&iCategory=131

CSC Technology manufacture real Goretex parkas and wind stopper jackets (awsome quality IMHO!).
IIRC, their BDU has been tested but replaced by TruSpec stuff.

TruSpec manufacture BDUs for Monte Cervino guys but their stuff is not available to civilians.

Boscarol manufacture madic bags and backpack.

Ferrino manufacture the issued back pack, tents and sleeping bags.
Quality stuff but expensive as well.

Vega manufacture quality holster and mag poches...I dont think they are issued.

stuff made by SBB, Eumar and Defcon5 are clones but still good for airsoft I think...they offer almost everything in Vegetata camo: BDU, hat, bonnie, non-goretex Parka, pouches, packs, etc.
These manufacturers are the only source for camo pouches.

as for different patterns....basically there's one standard pattern for all troops; then some special units (comsubin, col moschin, monte cervino, etc) have their own pattern and BDU cut.

The armour is a PetzCo 5500 and the vest is Black Hawk STRIKE model.

PC's, armour and webbing is/shouldn't be available for civilian consumers but you can check out the catalogue here...petzco

*CLEAR* BZZZZT

Just ordered some Tacgear stuff: Boonie and trews to update my kit, as my ACU cut stuff is nearly bloody white! Also bought ( off recon-company) THESE as I'm bingo on OD gloves.. look quite swish, but we shall see!

I intend to buy myself those gloves, currently i'm using armoured Black Leather gloves. They work but i don't really like the look of them.I'll probably buy the gloves when i order my H2O gear.

Oh dear! What can i say, great load out!The oh dear comment comes from the fact that my team will be/are doing the same thing exactly :D
That's really strange that two sets of people come to the same load outs.
I can source Vegetato H2O gear for 50 Euros but can't figure out if they ship outside Italy so we are going for the Helikon jackets. One Lad already has his & i'm using my EBB PCU jacket at the moment.
I'm still going ahead with getting the flags & tapes done but it's been put on the back burner until after i've done my Parachute course.

Heh :D Our uniforms not that rigid. Base uniform is OD gear ( whatever you want) black boots, OD or veggie hat/helmet, veggie trousers and shirt. But if it's hot or raining and you've not got a veggie t-shirt or veggie w/proofs, nobodies gonnna whine if you lob OD waterproofs on top.

I wore the TAD gear cos it was BASTID cold and I needed to keep my phone on me and secure ( wrist pocket ftw), oh, and it was new and wanted to try it out :D

My regular rig will be full veggie, FAPC and battle belt, veggie boonie.
